Langrock Welcomes Two New Associates and Celebrates Three Retiring Partners

Langrock Sperry & Wool, LLP is pleased to announce the hiring of two new associates. Kaelin “Liz” Mackey, a 2022 graduate of Vermont Law School, joined the firm in September 2023 following her stint as a Deputy State’s Attorney in Windsor County. Liz is based in the Middlebury office and is enjoying a general litigation practice. Outside of work, you’ll find Liz hanging out with her family, enjoying sports including ice hockey and ultimate frisbee, and coaching youth teams.

Jessica Bielonko is a 2023 graduate of Boston College School of Law, where she was honored with their Award for Clinical Excellence and a Certificate of Pro Bono Excellence for completing over 100 hours of service. Jessica is based in the Burlington office and is also working in general litigation. In her free time, you’ll find Jessica reading, spending time with family and friends, or outside enjoying the beautiful scenery Vermont has to offer.

The firm also bids a fond farewell to three longtime partners who retired earlier this year. Susan Murray, whose practice consisted primarily of family law and estate planning, began working at LSW in 1984. Susan had a national reputation as one of the primary architects of civil unions and same-sex marriage. Sarah Tischler joined LSW in 2007 and was recognized as one of the preeminent estate planning lawyers in the state. John Kellner worked at LSW beginning in 1985 through 2002, and rejoined the firm in 2014, until his recent retirement in 2023. John devoted his career to representing plaintiffs in personal injury and medical malpractice matters. While leaving their outstanding careers behind is bittersweet for them, they take comfort in knowing their clients will be well-served by LSW in the future. “I’m so excited about the incredible estate-planning team that we have built at LSW. Knowing that my former clients will be well taken care of makes it much easier for me to retire,” said Sarah Tischler.  We will miss all three of them as colleagues and friends.
