Mark L. Sperry
Mark handles a broad variety of real estate, commercial, municipal, environmental, land use, and estate planning matters, involving both transactions and litigation. He represents both individual and business clients in transactions ranging from residential real estate sales to complicated commercial acquisitions and leases. His litigation practice ranges from complex permit proceedings for developers to appeals before the Vermont Supreme Court. He is also counsel to numerous Vermont municipalities, providing advice on zoning, planning, taxation, labor relations, and other issues. He prepares sophisticated estate plans for individuals, together with succession plans for family businesses.
Before joining Peter Langrock in 1966 to found the firm then known as Langrock & Sperry, Mark clerked for the Hon. Ernest W. Gibson, U.S. District Court, District of Vermont. Mark is a past member of the Vermont Professional Conduct Board. He served as Chair of Hearing Panel No. 5 of the Vermont Professional Responsibility Program from 2000-2006, and continues to serve the Program as conflict counsel.
Mark and his wife live in South Burlington. They have four adult children.
