Biography
Michael, a native Vermonter, has practiced law in Burlington since 1972. He joined Peter Langrock, Mark Sperry, and Fred Parker to form Langrock Sperry Parker & Wool and open the firm’s Burlington office in 1982. Michael provides tax and strategic advice in a myriad of contexts ranging from family business matters to complex interstate and multinational transactions.
Michael serves on the Board of Directors of Espey Mfg. & Electronics Corp., an international publicly-traded company based in New York. He serves as a Vermont delegate to the New England Board of Higher Education and served as the Chair of the Board. Michael was chairperson of a special statewide committee appointed by the Governor to evaluate and make recommendations regarding the Vermont Principals’ Association. He served as chairman of the Board of Governors of Ohavi Zedek Synagogue and as president of the Nordic Spirit Soccer Club of Vermont. He is a former board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington and serves on the Club’s Honorary Board.
Michael lives in Charlotte with his wife Martha, a pediatric nurse, and loves to keep track of his three grown daughters and six grandchildren, keep up with the young guys on the hoop court, and make sure everyone sees the humorous side of life.
